talk

listen about the jet stream
of flight
heard overhead
whilst below a sparkly unicorn
spoke with a triceratops

prattling, were they
under a canopy of verdant
leaves high above
yet

close upon
the maniacal waterfalls
and
misty hydrogen kisses

water drops danced upon
triceratops'
one and only horn

when the genius unicorn
comrade said
Harry
you've traveled in time

Hunger

There once lived a beast
Who hungered for a bone

I cannot sleep
The little beast thought

He tossed
And turned

He lounged around
His home

He did not excite over a walk
Over a squirrel

When his master said
What’s wrong, sport?

The little beast placed his head
Upon his paws
And sighed

One day, a young woman appeared
In the doorway

The master looked at her
And then at the little beast

And she looked at the master
And then at the little beast

Honey, perhaps he wants a bone
She said

The little beast perked his ears
And his head came off his paws

A bone? It has to be!
The master said

Beast went hungry no more
The end

Ethiopian Toddlers Should be Fatter

I simply have this little plea: can't we turn those little Ethiopian babies away from remaining so skinny? Sure, they don't have food. But can we do something about getting them some? If things that I threw away, like bananas weren't so perishable (god, they brown so quickly!), I'd find a proper Ethiopian PO Box and send the unconsumed goods on over. That won't work. So maybe I'll send some spare change? I don't think cold currency travels very well in envelopes. Sigh. Maybe I'll join some hunger relief effort. We must be able to do something. Those little babies on the ads for helping hunger...their little arms are just too little. May the Ethiopian toddlers fatten up...somehow.

P.S. Goodness knows, our United States toddlers can manage to skimp on food and such. Maybe we can organize some international parties...where the fat U.S. kids can share their teddy grahams with the gangly Ethiopian cutenesses.

Velvet Petals

Roses open and close so quickly.

Our only choice is to inhale them while in bloom.

What's behind those winter blues? Disclaimer: If you never feel blue, this post isn't for you

Hey everyone! It's been so long since we've been together. I apologize for the hiatus, but I've been teaching a fair amount, and...
